Looking forward to my next trip to Madrid and Smartrental.
Andrea at the front door was fantastic. We had a slight booking issue (our fault) and she took the time to resolve the issue in the best possible way with great grace. The rest of the staff was extremely welcoming.
The room was comfortable, we used the kitchen countertop stove, fridge, and microwave for those days and times when we chose not to eat outside of the room. The wifi ran at speeds in excess of 200 Mbps and I was able to use it for video conference calls for my business meetings.
But again the views were the best. The doors in the bedroom and living room opened up to small balconies on Gran Via that had stunning views.
I can't wait to return.

Not recommended
The hotel is located on the main street Gran Via and this is its main advantage. The location is really convenient: nearby attractions, restaurants and active city life. But it is worth considering that the main downside is noise. Our apartments had windows to the street, and despite the receptionist's assurances of good soundproofing, the noise was almost 24 hours a day. Sirens, screaming, car traffic, all of these things prevented sleep even when the windows were closed.
The apartments we were given were spacious, but their condition disappointed us. The room looked “tired”: scratches on the walls and televisions, old kitchen furniture with badly closed and creaky drawers, the shower cubicle door did not fit tightly due to a worn sealing gum. All of this created the unpleasant feeling that the room was long in need of renovation.
The staff were polite and tried to help. We were offered a place to move to a higher floor where the noise would be less as promised. However, this relocation could not take place until the following day. After spending one night in this hotel, we realized we weren't ready to stay all six nights. The condition of the room and the general accommodation conditions were not satisfactory. We got used to a different level of comfort, so we decided to move to another hotel.
It is important to note that our tariff was non-refundable and we were warned that there was no obligation to refund the money. However, staff promised to discuss the situation with management and consider a partial refund. However, this did not happen – the money was never returned to us. We were willing to sacrifice that sum for comfort and left the hotel.
As a result, in terms of value for money this hotel did not suit us at all. We do not recommend it, especially if you are looking for peace, comfort and fresh, well-kept rooms. There are far better options, even in the same area.

It's worth mentioning that we had a non-refundable rate, and we were informed that the hotel wasn't obligated to refund our payment. Still, the staff promised to discuss the situation with management and explore the possibility of a partial refund. Unfortunately, nothing came of it, and we didn’t get our money back. We were willing to forfeit the payment for the sake of our comfort and left the hotel.
In conclusion, the price-to-quality ratio of this hotel was disappointing. We cannot recommend it, especially if you value quiet, comfort, and well-maintained rooms. There are much better options available, even in the same area.

Yeah, great!
Clean and spacious, our apartment had everything we needed, including a small kitchen.
Staff always helpful and kind.
We recommend it.
