Food poisoning marred our enjoyment of this holiday.
The outdoor pool was cold but we did swim in the indoor pool which was acceptable
Noise from workmen replacing tiling around the outside pool on weekdays was irritating. We were advised this was happening by Tui less than 48hrs before our holiday but were so unable change hotels due to unavailability.
I travelled with my daughter and her partner to celebrate my 70th birthday and the hotel accommodated us with 2 rooms next door to each other which we aprreciated. The rooms were lovely and cleaned daily to a high standard.
We booked all inclusive, which we'd recommend.
Unfortunately both my daughter and myself became very sick late on the 2nd evening and throughout the same night. We had both only eaten in the main restaurant prior to this. My daughters partner was absolutely fine, so we suspected the cause was food poisoning from something we had both consumed, possibly chicken or cheesecake?
We spent the whole of the following day in bed and most of the rest of the week, sadly felt unable to eat properly and enjoy the food and drink on offer, so this marred our enjoyment of our much needed, long awaited holiday.
Reception team were informed as were Tui, but neither bothered to check in with us to see if we were okay. Neither did the Rep who appeared non existant at times he was supposed to be on site
Thank goodness my daughters partner was unaffected and able to look after us
We did manage one trip to the Oasis Widlife Park at the end of the week which we'd highly recommend. We went by taxi which was very reasonable.

We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our beachfront setting, the comfort and cleanliness of your rooms, and the convenience of our all-inclusive offering. It’s also wonderful to know that we could accommodate your family’s special celebration, and we appreciate your recommendation of the Oasis Wildlife Park.
However, we are truly sorry to learn that you and your daughter felt unwell during your stay. We understand how disappointing this must have been, especially on such an important trip. Please rest assured that guest well-being is our top priority, and we take all health concerns very seriously.
That said, among the 550 guests currently staying at the hotel, no similar health issues have been reported. Notably, over 20% of these guests have booked through TUI, which suggests that, in the event of a case of food poisoning, multiple reports would have been received rather than just one family being affected. Consequently, we believe that this may be attributed to a viral infection or the consumption of food prior to your arrival at the hotel, given that the reported symptoms appear to have manifested a day after check-in.
We did inform Tui that the hotel’s medical professional could assess you and provide the necessary treatment. But you did not reach out to us directly for any further assistance.
We sincerely appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future for a fully enjoyable experience.

Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear that you found the hotel nice and enjoyed the peaceful location. Costa Calma is indeed a quieter area, mainly catering to those looking for a relaxing stay.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the additional charges for the room safe and pool towels. As part of our Stay Green policy, we strive to limit towel changes to help reduce water consumption, as it is a scarce resource on the island. Additionally, to minimize waste from single-use plastic bottles, we provide free water stations throughout the hotel for guests to refill their bottles at any time.
Your comment are valuable, and we’ll be sure to pass them along to the management for review. We hope that, despite these inconveniences, you had an enjoyable stay and would consider visiting again in the future!

Moderate
- had a great view (sea view room + balcony 1521
- Very quiet location
- indoor swimming pool
- room cleaning also perfect
Negative
- the staff at the bar varies super hard regarding friendliness
No matter how hard you try to speak Spanish yourself or how friendly you are. Some are always in a bad mood... not okay.
- Reception long lines with moments
- When arriving on our first day 45 minutes have to queue at the reception to be helped in low season
Then chose to rebook our half board to all inclusive. But this simply wasn't worth it. Food is quantity over quality. After switching to all inclusive, our straps stopped working to get into our room. Went all the way back to the reception to wait in a long queue again to solve this. Went back to the room and only my wife's tape worked. I refused to get my tape checked again ....
-In my opinion not a 4 star hotel.
