Loved it. Rooms are huge, clean and comfortable. Reception friendly and helpful. Breakfast was incredible, so much choice and all fresh, tasty food. Location slightly out the way but 10 mins walk to the Metro, not a bother for the quality of the hotel.

Good Location but Uncomfortable Beds and Pillows

We enjoyed our stay at the Spirit Hotel Gran Bilbao.
There is easy self parking.
At check in the member of staff was friendly and knowledgeable. In fact all the staff we encountered were friendly.
The location is great - it's not in the city centre but there is a bus stop right outside the front door that takes you all the way into the city centre. It's very cheap and even cheaper if you buy a Barik card.
Our room was very spacious which was fantastic as there we three of us.
There was a water fountain in the corridor which was great. A reusable bottle would have been useful.
There were male and female toilets along the corridor too which is a great idea.
The walls are paper thin so we could hear our neighbours music like it was being played in our room.
The pillows were awful - they are memory foam but flatten completely when you place your head on them. The beds were also a bit too firm for our liking. As a result we didn't get good sleeps and this is the main reason for the lower rating. A good sleep is essential - especially in a 4 star hotel.
The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor.
There was mold on the sealings around the bath.
We had to ask for new towels on the second day as the old ones were taken away and not replaced.
We ate in the restaurant on the first night. There was a plant based burger available for vegans and vegetarians. The food was okay but service was very slow.
Breakfast was just okay but the only hot option for a vegan was fried peppers and onions and cooked mushrooms - the mushrooms weren't very nice, they tasted a bit stale. There was fresh fruit and various breads on offer and cheese. There is quite a variety of food but because it's buffet self service it was mayhem!

Enormous problem charging electric car and Tomas was so helpful in spending time to do this with us. Greatly appreciated.
Dinner was great in the restaurant and staff exceptional.
Only problem for us was not finding a news channel on TV!

We had a wonderful stay in Spirit Gran Hotel Bilbao.Room was very clean and spacious.The staff was friendly and helpful.Breakfast was amazing!We would definitely stay again.

Superior!!!

The cleaners especially Lene were very thorough and very friendly and courteous, what she lacked in English expressions she made up by her being attentive and helpful!She,Lene, is an asset to spirit hotel gran . Because of her and your receptionist, Mana and your Chef Alvaro who made excellent recommendations on where and how to go to Bilbao’s gems, I’ll recommend the Hotel once I get back to Toronto and Manila!!!
