Lovely visit, top class hotel

This is truly a wonderful hotel. The place is immaculately clean and the rooms spacious. We had a pool view room which is at the back of the hotel and although you forego the sea view I suspect it’s quieter. Bottled water was provided daily which was really welcome. Whoever is in charge of staff training should take a bow as they are nothing short of exceptional! Everyone has a smile and can’t do enough to help. The omelette chef and waiting staff at breakfast deserve a special mention along with the bar staff in the evening.
The hotel location is great with plenty of bars and restaurants within a 5-15 minute walk. We visited Valetta using the short ferry ride from Sliema harbour which is about a 20 minute walk away. Valetta is lovely with lots of history but you need to be mobile as there are lots of steps. We also visited Mdina which again is fascinating. I’d recommend a guided tour to get the best out of the visit. We used Uber to get to and from Mdina which cost about €15 each way and took about 20 minutes. There are lots of busses which cost a flat rate of €2 for 2 hours and you can pay by card on the bus.
All in all a lovely trip. We’ll be back.

The rooftop pool (service) was disappointing. Preferred the pool on ground level over the street.
Ignore concierge’s suggestion to visit beach club „1926 La Plage” nearby. It is run down and the service is bad.
Hotel is nice and newly refurbished. The ruftop club room serves delicious food and Aperol Spritz, but the service times are too limited.
I asked for quiet room but got one near a service lift of the hotel :( Room otherwise nice, but be aware that bathroom has this “modern” way, not to be separated by a wall and door, but wooden beams, so all sounds etc. are noticed :/

Fantastic and welcoming hotel!

Just come home from having an amazing week away at this fantastic hotel!
Nothing was too much trouble and my wife and I would like you to thank all the staff for welcoming us and making our first visit to Malta truly great. Big specifically to the bartender of the hotel’s bar who could make any cocktail and his colleagues who ran the bar and restaurant, including the maitre d’ and the head manager who greeted and chatted to us every morning at breakfast. We also had the pleasure of meeting two of the managers who also chatted to us and made us feel welcome! We are really looking forwards to returning to this amazingly clean and friendly hotel!

Excellent service and lovely stay

It is great to see the excellence service from the team. Top management’s welcome is an extra step they have taken to feel their guests welcome. Thank you for the best stay.
Clean rooms and helpful concierge service. Overall a great example for hospitality as a leading hotel in the industry.

2nd year visit, not as good as the first

This was our second year in a row visiting Malta and staying at the Marriott. There were a lot of positives which we saw previously, a warm reception, a great breakfast (special thank you to Antony who was a retired chap and who took to working a few hours to keep active) provided wonderful service and is a credit to the Hotel. Our rooms were clean and thank you to Hritik for doing such a wonderful job and greeting us with a smile always. Downsides - a terrible manager in the gym (Heidi ?) who felt the need to humiliate us in the Sauna, where previously my family used the gym and squash courts (safely), having signed their waiver, we were asked to sign the waiver again but this time, a year on they were not allowed to use, even though the stay remembered us from our previous visit and conduct !! I can understand changes to policy, but the manner which this was conveyed was in my view not acceptable. My wife had (months before) emailed to say it was a special visit as we were heading there for my 50th and a 70th Birthday celebration. We asked to have adjoining rooms as my family had to be split into two rooms and ideally pleasant views. Unfortunately, we received neither which was very disappointing, this said, one room was changed from a single bed into a 2 bedroom which we had requested (I was informed by the general manger this was an upgrade) which we fully appreciated. It did mean my family was further split from one another, but the gesture was accepted with the good intent it was provided.
I'd suggest if you have any requests, that you try to speak to the same individual over email when arranging. If you're not happy on arrival to take it up with them directly, as ultimately you've booked and agreed with them what you are seeking.
Overall, I'd recommend the Marriott hands down over anywhere else.
