We will return
Simple hotel, and in its simplicity c is everything you need.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Location of 'Hotel convenient to reach the center by means,,, stop a few minutes walk.
Paid parking 4 euros per day. Close to the hotel

Short stay at Hotel Sonia
I booked the room to accompany my husband who had to do a few days of hospitalization at Careggi.
I liked it because it is quite close to the hospital, the room is basic, very clean and the owners are friendly and willing to meet the changes that can arise from a hospitalization.
I recommend it.

Cheap but not that Cheerful
Very easy to find from station. The receptionist was a bit miserable and was very difficult to get any useful information out of her. Be sure to get your passport back though as seems to be known for not handing them back (based on previous reviews). We bought the included breakfast but it was pathetic (two croissants in plastic and an orange juice).
In the room, the walls were very thin and you could hear everything happening in the hallway. Fortunately, we didn't have neighbours who were too noisy. That did also mean we could hear the many ambulances driving past at night which woke us up a few times. Towels weren't very absorbent which wasn't so bad as the shower was tiny. We only had 2 plugs and both were near the door which was a little bit annoying when you want to use your phone before bed to look up where to go tomorrow. The bed looked dirty and like it hadn't been washed in some time. We were told this was part of the design which was a load of bull.
Getting the bus into town was relatively easy. Lot of roadworks which made it hard to work out where we were but coming back was much easier and the stop was just round the corner from the hotel.

Not all the staff speak English, I'm sorry.
You only paid 2 € for breakfast ……

Instead of the expensive and busy Centre
I choose to stay in this hotel for the second time because it is located close to a friend’s home. However tourists can also find this location quite convenient as buses (from Piazza Dalmazia/Rifredi) and soon a brand new tramway will take you easily to the centre of this unique beauty which is Florence. The room was very clean, pretty basically furnished although with some good taste. Air condition is installed and also a fan. No hairdryer but if you ask at the reception they’ll give you one. I forgot to ask what they charge for a double but knowing that in June they charged me 50€ per night breakfast included plus 2€ each day for taxes for a single, I suppose that also for a double it should be reasonable. Staff is kind. Breakfast is poor and uninviting but this is not a problem because right next door there is a caffé-bar-pasticceria-panetteria where you can have the best cappuccino and brioche or anything else sweet (or saulty) you dream of.

I booked a room with private bath, but, when arrived had to insist on it as they had me in without one. Took much longer to get to any of sights than listed on line. Traffic noise so loud at night I couldn't sleep. I went next door for coffee and bakery goods, instead of coffee from machine and commercially packaged items served. Staff was helpful.
