Nice hotel in a good central possition, within walking distance of shops and station. Staff are alway helpful and breakfast is good.

Renovation urgently needed
Unfortunately very much in need of renovation. The rooms are old and you can find damage in all corners. In the bathroom there was even mold on the joints:-(
The staff are striving and friendly, but they make an overwhelmed impression.

I arrived a lot earlier than the check-in time and anyway they managed to accommodate me and gave me even a free upgrade of my room which was great and highly appreciated because I was travelling through the whole evening !

American-style Customer Service and a great experience
Best hotel experience! The staff were so helpful and friendly and every one of them went beyond expectations to give us a great time. Even details such as an explanation of the art used in the hotel itself, I was given a bit of a history tour of the city! And it turns out our room has a fantastic glowing painting of a city scene over the bed. I've been in countless hotels but I've never had a glowing painting!
Our room (120) was an upgrade so it was pretty big for German standards. The view was the apartment building across the street, but it was so QUIET. We were in the loud part of town and we heard nothing at night. I love the fact that we can open all the windows (we had 4!). If you have children, they will fall out. That's Germany.
When I woke up this morning I realized their hotel bed is more comfortable than my own.
I love a hotel that has free-hanging clothes hangers (not attached like we're criminals), and this hotel offers a tiny fridge to keep your drinks cool. Not cold, just cool, which is better than warm.
There was not one, but TWO chairs to sit at the desk or use to watch TV if you prefer to sit in something other than the bed. This is rare, and we appreciated it.
There was one problem with this hotel on our stay. The hot water heater malfunctioned and no one in the building had any hot water. It would have been nice to be able to take a shower, but we couldn't.
However, the staff made it up to us. They offered us the breakfast buffet for free, and a couple of drinks out of the cooler. The breakfast in this hotel is not one of the best, but it's adequate. No scrambled eggs or bacon, but hard boiled eggs and cold cuts and cheese. The cheese was really good. There was juice and mint/lemon water which we enjoyed. Someone invented a Nutella Dispensing Maschine and there it was.
Don't forget to turn on the glowing art on the wall in your room!

However, we are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by the hot water heater malfunction during your visit. We understand how essential a hot shower is and we apologize for the discomfort this may have caused. Our technician and the external company tried throughout the whole weekend to fix the hot water pump. In the end we had to buye an new one that was successfully built in on Monday!
Nonetheless, we are very pleased that you found the bed to be exceptionally comfortable and that the amenities, such as the clothes hangers and the fridge, added to your experience. We are also glad to hear that the additional chairs in your room provided extra convenience. Finally, we are happy to know that our gesture of offering a complimentary breakfast and drinks was well-received.

Very well located hotel about 10 min walk from the Main Railway Station (Hauptbahnhoff), not that much luxus but I guess you get what you pay for - have now stayed there a couple of times and will be back again at another time
