In the Mddle of Everything
This hotel is as close to the attractions in Dresden as possible. The Church of Our Lady was right next door and could be seen from our hotel window. All of the other attractions were within easy walking distance of the hotel. The room was large with comfortable beds. The wifi was very good.

Shabby hotel in top location
The location directly opposite the Frauenkirche is top, that is unfortunately the only positive thing I can report. We were here for the first time in the 90s and then again in 2008. And that's what the rooms look like today, the hotel is really very old. In the bathroom you can see quite clearly that here has not been renovated for a long time or never before. An ancient tub, the tiles shabby. It's clean, but looks dingy. All silicone joints must be replaced urgently. A bath mat as you know it from the 80s is out of time. A shower curtain should also be a thing of the past in hotels of this price range. The heating in the room works, but in the bathroom the radiator is blocked, so it is quite cool just after showering. The furniture has typical 90s charm. Breakfast was good, but a topper was not delivered even after further demand. Apart from the room size, each PremierInn or Motel One is better furnished and has significantly better and more modern bathrooms. We were here at the end of the year, but 290 euros incl. breakfast is simply a cheek for a standard room of this quality. On arrival, 50 Euro deposit per day was booked on the credit card, however the minibar is completely empty and the restaurants are outside the hotel. There is not even a bottle of water in the room. The argument with the location has also been settled, as there are significantly better hotels in the vicinity at the same price, such as the Hyperion am Schloss or the Steigenberger de Saxe. We definitely won't be coming to the Hilton Dresden anymore, I'll be very cautious about bookings at other Hilton hotels in the future as well.

Overpriced
Spent two nights here after Christmas 2024. Excellent location between Frauenkirche and Fürstenzug. Clean hotel. Room style of the 1980s when the hotel was built. Breakfast with 28.50 euros per person totally overpriced. Fitness and pool cost 3 euros per day. Pool small and overflowing. Dresden tax is added. Mattress outdated and somewhat uncomfortable, bed however large.

The only positive thing about this hotel were the room, big and spacious, and the location, super central. Although the moquette is unhygienic.
I always appreciate a luggage rack but one in a room for 2 people is ridiculous.
We also got unlucky with the bathroom as the shower curtain was mounted wrong so taking a shower meant creating a lake in the bathroom.
The hotel is not very well organised, we had to wait a lot to check-in and when it was finally our turn, even though the room was ready, we would have had to pay to check in earlier for mere 50 minutes. Embarrassing.
We left the luggages and came back later and had to queue again with all the guests that had just arrived, for more than half an hour. We only needed the key cards, we already did all the paperwork.
They preauthorised 50€ per night on our cards, in case we wanted to use the room service or the restaurant, which we explained we didn’t. And if you looked at the room service menu, you wouldn’t want to as well..
I would expect a famous chain like the Hilton to know that “Taglietelle Carbonara” doesn’t exist, it’s “Spaghetti carbonara” or “Rigatoni alla carbonara”.
Furthermore “Spaghetti bolognese” doesn’t exist as well, it’s “tagliatelle bolognese”.
There’s a pool but it’s unclear if it’s available to every guest. The staff is not keen on divulging information.
It would be nice if more of the staff would be able to speak English (and maybe a third language) as a lot of the guests are tourists from other countries.

Staycation in Hilton Dresden
The hotel is in a nice location with access to many restaurants.
The hotel is outdated and in need of a good renovation however the rooms are spacious and clean but on arrival the bath amenities were not refilled so before jumping in the shower, have a look so you do not have the same surprise.
No greeting and welcome upon check-in instead direct request for a credit card, no basic information provided as well and reception team showed no interest in assisting guest.
The head concierge was very nice and his recommendation was helpful.
Overall we enjoyed our stay in Dresden and enjoyed the food very much.
