Nothing spectacular ... but good rest at the end!

I’ve just stay a night there on a business trip and the hotel was arranged by my agent.
So far … what to say …. Quite fast check-in and the front-desk personnel was English-speaking which is a quite big plus!
Initial impression for the hotel is good with wide and big lobby, restaurants on the ground floor.
Booked room was small, but more than enough to accommodate the person/s. Sleeping comfort was good, room and bath were clean and some complement into the desk.
One big minus for the foreign guests is that there are no any English speaking channels on the TV, even music channel, but …. Internet connection is quite good and you may listen music via internet without any problem.
View from my room was over parking lot(back+corner) and cannot be determine a stunning, but as was rainy day … nothing to see :).
As I was able to read later – as it looks there is a bit problem with AC controller into the rooms and mine was not an exemption! Anyhow as was May was mild weather and I did not feel some discomfort, but was necessary to open the window a few times :).
Hotel is in good area and if you do not like hotel restaurant – there are a lot of options around and small shops too … Everything is on walking distance!
Nothing spectacular, but good and comfortable rest at all …

The room was frozen

The heater doesn't work, it is January and Ningbo is cold, but this hotel think the heater is not necessary, so the room was really frozen. I wanted a room with a king bed but they gave me 2 beds together as a one bed. Not too much water in the shower. I will not back ever.

Nice hotel but,with Non English speaking staff

Though I stayed here for one night, my experience is worth sharing. I checked in at around 2200hrs. Check in was fast. I was given a room on 3rd floor. Nice small room it was. But after a while I realised air conditioner not working. I called up reception, but no one understood what I am talking. When I started sweating, I went down to reception to tell my problem. When I point at the sweat all over my face, they understood and later sent a technician to rectify the fault. Later at night I wanted to call my home from room. But IDD calls were not working. So this one too took some time. Next morning I went for breakfast. Lots of food items. All in all good hotel, but is put down by non english speaking staff.

Fantastic customer service, nice facilities!

I spent three days at this hotel for a conference, so besides the usual tourist sites, I was able to see a lot of the inner workings of the hotel. The first day I arrived, one of the organizers of the conference thought I was at the wrong hotel, so they checked me out. A few hours later, I called to reinstate me at this hotel, and there was no problem: I was back at my room that night without any problem! Also, I saw some of the most helpful people in China, both in the front counter, and helping in the beautifully decorated and conference rooms. The breakfast is excellent: a buffet with plenty of Chinese food dishes and a few western dishes, and always staff around willing to help. The room was very clean and I had no problems with hot water, internet access, etc. I wouldn't say the hotel is at the center of town, but it is close enough to Lao Wai Tan (老外滩) and downtown with a 5 to 10 minute taxi ride. In short, the hotel is not brand new but one can see that there is constant upkeep and repairs. I highly recommend this hotel!

Typical Chinese 3 star hotel.

When I arrived at the hotel quite late in the evening, it took the girls behind the dest about 15 minutes to register. They just did not realise that me an another guest were just very tired and we wanted to go to our rooms as soon as possible. The bar was already empty, same for the beauty salon, so all the attendents came to check us out. So when i got to my room the phone rang after a few minutes offering me all kind of services. The room was OK for the price. Internet quite fast, beds clean only the shower area showed some wear and tear.
