Great hotel for a weekend away

We booked the Mayburg for a last minute city break and were pleasantly surprised. We had a lovely welcome by Sonny on the front desk and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were always friendly and our room was clean and spacious. The aircon worked well and the beds were comfortable. We visited Salzburg for a city break, so didn't plan on spending much time in the hotel and figured there are so many beautiful spots to have breakfast/brunch in Salzburg old town, that we didn't need to eat in the hotel.
We didn't have any problems staying in this hotel and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanted to visit Salzburg. It is a little walk to the old town but the bus service is very good.

Definitely not 4 stars and not comparable to other hotels dee Marriott group

Staff is very friendly, location very good, our room a big disappointment. We were accommodated in the side building, the room was very dark - little (day)light, dark painted, same in the bathroom room, dark and very little light, no wardrobe just a kind of wardrobe, no kettle as indicated, coffee pads were also missing, shower head was broken and was sealed with insulating tape before, on top of the outbuilding is the roof terrace. This can be reached via a metal external staircase. The noise of the footstep noises is enormously loud, we were helpful that the weather was rather cold and the terrace was little used.

Um Gottes Willen. Das klingt wirklich schrecklich. Können Sie uns bitte kurz per mail senden, in welchem Raum Sie waren? Die Dusche muss das Engineering-Team natürlich fixen.
Ein Wasserkocher wäre auf Anfrage bei der Rezeption erhältlich. Für die schlechte Versorgung mit Kaffeekapseln entschuldigen wir uns- das war schlechter housekeeping-service.
Es tut uns Leid, dass Sie so enttäuscht vom Aufenthalt waren. Wir hoffen, Sie hatten abseits davon- zumindest mit und in Salzburg- eine schöne weihnachtliche Zeit.

The room is ok, but a little bit far from the train station (15 mins walk). There is a mini bar includes Nespresso capsules and it refilled every day. The room is quite tidy and there is air conditioning.

Very nice until breakfast time

Stayed on weekend night. Got lucky to catch the last parking spot in front of the building (as they are limited). Check-in was friendly and professional. Got a very nice room. Lovely decor, functional and spacious - their designer did a good job and it doesn't only look good, it is also of good quality so you sleep in a heavenly bed with nice comfy bedding. Enjoyed a glass of wine after dinner at the bar - again very friendly and attentive service by the lady that already checked us in. After a good night's sleep, went down for breakfast. That was an average experience. The staff - three persons - were busy behind their screens and mobile phones whilst the items on the buffet did not get replenished, tables were, no coffee cups, no forks (only knives) not cleaned and set, etc. In all fairness: when we did ask them something, they were taking care of it but then immediately back to their toys. That is not how it should work and the breakfast experience is unfortunate given the rest of the stay was really lovely. Hint: instead of three junior associates "supervising" breakfast, take one professional and the issue is solved within one day.

The rooms were very clean and the water was always stocked. One thing I had read and that my father-in-law and i experienced was that the coffee was not restocked in the morning. The breakfast was also very over proced for what you got. But otherwise the location was good, the staff friendly, and the rooms clean and modern. We would stay again. Reasonably proced for what you get.
