The room is basic. No coffee or tea service available in room. Bed is decent but sheets scratchy and no top blanket. The heating/cooling unit in the room was broken and wouldn’t turn off, the fan running all night which made the room feel extra dry. Could not keep the window open because rooms face a busy & noisy main road . Free parking.

Great location, but not the pet-friendly motel of yesteryear. Call ahead for motel pet policy

We've stayed here many times over the years for business and a short holiday out of the snow. It is a Motel 6 classic, when this stretch of 111 was the place to be. Though the area has seen better days, and there is a bit of sketch, it is still a nice location against the foothills. Easy early morning and evening summer dog walks along the river behind the motel and businesses to the south. Ans when it rains, it neat to see the Whitewater flowing. It's a short drive to Rancho Mirage Dog Park which my dogs love and best visited well before 8am during the summer. Rooms are clean and the stays have always been quiet and pleasant.
Motel 6 has been our family forty-plus year go-to motel because the chain has always welcomed the family pets, but that was before being bought by Blackstone Inc., an asset management company. Now, individual franchisees have their own pet policies.
I was unaware of this on our last trip. I arrived at Rancho Mirage on September (118 degrees). On check-in I had to sign a separate pet disclaimer that was not disclosed on the website for this motel and should be. It stated that our two dogs (house dogs) couldn't be left alone in the room. The wary manager then, was kind enough to make a one-time exception for a four-hour business afternoon meeting that I had. She did say that in the future, the dogs would have to be crated. That has changed.
Just booked a three night-stay for September 2024 and thought to double-check the pet policy and called the Rancho Mirage office. The desk agent said no leaving the dogs in the room alone, no exceptions, not even with bark collars and crates. It would be great if the individual motels would dedicate a section to pets, at the far end of the motel.
If you are planning to stay at any Motel 6, be sure to call the office of the motel you'll be staying at and request a copy of the individual motel's pet policy before arrival, to prevent surprises. Individual pet policies are different from the policy disclosed on the M6 website.
Don't forget to pick up after you pet.

Adequately maintained property. Very friendly staff with attentive housekeeping. Room was very clean and typical of Motel 6. Noisy location but convenient to east and west valley.

Over all stay was good besides the loud Hwy way traffic if you in the front of the hotel. Plus there was a lot of loud noise from other guest. As well as the Hot Water Heater was broken and no compensation was given.
