Everything was as good as I expected. The problems I had, was the renovation was suppose to be done and it wasn't, so some things were inconvenient. Plus the front drsk people did tell me breakfast or check out times, i had to call, which isn't a huge deal but I always get told that. Also the $15 parking charge said it was covered on my Bill, but they charged me anyway. Which i will be disputing with Hotels. Everything else was good though. Nice size room, decent breakfast for what you pay for and nice people there. Distance to universal studios is good too. I would stay again after the renovation is over.

We have stayed at this hotel many times and always liked it very much. Unfortunately, during this trip, they were under construction. When we arrived, we were informed that our room would not be exactly what was promised. We booked a suite with a king bed and a sofa. We got a single room with two queen beds.. We knew nothing about the construction, and they mentioned a discount but rescinded that, informing us that it was on their website. I told them we booked on Hotels.com and never checked their website. The receptionist said I can give you a choice; take it or leave it.
They gave us a remodeled room with a small closet with no door. The clothes rod was only about 16”, barely enough for one person, in a room that sleeps four. There was one drawer as close to the floor as possible underneath the microwave. There was no writing desk, I had to move a lamp to write. There was no safe, no iron or ironing board. For cleaning, we needed to remove the Do Not Disturb sign by 8 am, or they would bypass our room.
About pool availability, he said no. I reminded him that the website said there was a pool, and he said there is a pool, you just can’t use it and that we came at the wrong time. One of the days, there was painting outside the window; the smell was unbearable, so I retreated to the lobby. At one point, the construction equipment blocked the parking area so no cars could get in or out.

Cancelled reservation and MAJOR renovation noise

Hotel is going under MAJOR renovation with jackhammering, dust and major construction. The hotel refused to find us a room somewhere else and had the audacity to cancel our reservation without our permission. It was beyond unprofessional.

We stayed on 02/13 for one night. No running water when we checked in for 4 hours. Could not flush toilets. Then elevator not working do to maintence and there was no stair entrance. We came down and ended up outside in the rain. Then had to wait for 1 hr before going back up woth elevator. We were just trying to collect our food delivery.

Staying here has been an extremely unpleasant experience. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, and the smell of construction on the fourth-floor corridor is overwhelming. The odor is also quite strong inside the room. Starting at 8:30 AM, there was constant banging and the use of electric drills, making it impossible for me to rest, especially since I had only slept for three hours due to jet lag. The front desk couldn't offer any viable solutions; the only option they provided was a pair of earplugs. As a result, I had to take my young child, who also had very little sleep, out of the hotel to find a distant destination so we could nap in a taxi and even in a coffee shop. It's frustrating that we couldn't stay in the hotel room we paid for.
