Disappointing

Easy access but standard and services not at all what is expected for price point
We had pre booked a meal in the restaurant on the Saturday lunchtime, and after a few weeks of chasing, got confirmation but no details .
We arrived to check in, the car park is actually about a 10 min walk away but otherwise fine. The leisure facilities are actually in the gym next door, and only available until 7pm for guest, it felt like going to any local gym, nothing spa like at all.
The room, a "premium room" on the 5th floor was clean and a good size but lacked what you expect - no soap (just shower gel and shampoo), one teabag and one coffee sachet and no biscuits etc to be found. The duvet was even on inside out, with the frayed insides sticking out round the edges!
We had a joined room to next door and the door wasn't fully complete or sound proofed, so we could see the lights of next door when we had our lights off, and when our "neighbours" decided to come back to the room at 1am and dance / sing / shout for 2 hrs, they might as well have been in our room. We complained to reception who just kind of said that sounds bad, but didn't do anything.
The breakfast was in the restaurant and was fine, but again nothing luxurious. More like a premier inn. For about 15 minutes, despite having lots of staff around chatting, the bread wasn't replenished and several of the food bowls were empty.
Lunch on Saturday was supposed to be a special treat. I infact it was beyond disappointing. Given the need to book etc and the cost, I had expected a proper restaurant. So pretty surprised to be shown to a table and given a menu that was basically 2 pizzas or pie and chips (all at over £15 each).

Disgraceful cancellation of booking to resell at twice the cost

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of your booking. Due to necessary renovations and a schedule beyond our control, an entire floor of the hotel had to be taken out of service, which unfortunately impacted some reservations, including yours. As your booking was made through a third-party agent, they are responsible for handling cancellations and exploring alternative accommodation options. We truly regret the disruption this has caused and appreciate your feedback. I can assure you that no new bookings were done for said dates for weeks, as we did not have any more capacity to offer, reason for the unfortunate cancellations of reservations that you experienced.
