A true hidden gem.

I love to walk. I love to cook. I also love to eat good food.
The Five Alls in Filkins is almost at the halfway point of a truly beautiful figure-of-eight circuit beginning just beyond the lovely village of Hatherop - at sheep bridge . This lovely walk meanders down through the charming villages of Eastleach Turville and Eastleach Martin. It's a lovely 1.45 hour walk before reaching The Five Alls pub in Filkins.
And what a delight it is. It's a cosy Cotswold pub serving fantastic food and all the staff are hugely welcoming.
The delicious crispy duck and watercress salad is absolutely fabulous and my husband almost licked his plate following his superb Sunday roast dinner.
We can't wait to return.

Best Sunday Roast!

Went for Sunday lunch today as going to be our new local…absolutely delicious and we are very fussy when it comes to a roast! Beef was divine and every other part of the meal was superb including the scotch egg starter! Pub is beautifully done out and staff so welcoming and friendly..fabulous!

Rude locals!

Location, food and service were all pleasant. However as this is an affluent area the locals made it clear they think poor of people not from that area. As myself and my friend, both in our 40’s walked in to the restaurant to be seated. On a table next to us was a party of four elder people (60’s)
One of the men leaned over and in a joking way said “I hope we will have no trouble from you” I laughed this off as I didn’t want to cause a scene but to be honest it ruined my experience. I could have been confrontational and made the man apologise and look a fool in front of his friends but chose to be the bigger person and not ruin things for other guests. In a different setting this could have been volatile.

A super place to stay in a beautiful village

We had to leave our accommodation as the heating system wasn’t working What luck to book into the Five Alls superb accommodation in room number 9 massive bed lovely beautifully decorated warm room the shower was massive and lovely very hot water Nespresso machine large TV . What more could one want? We ate in the pub lovely friendly staff terrific food followed by an equally good breakfast the next day. I couldn’t believe the reasonable room rates could have paid lots more and still have been happy

Cotswolds gem

A great little gem in the Cotswolds, arrived a little before check-in time, but the team were happy to check us in and get us all settled, even had a dog hamper for our dogs too. A very nice large well appointed room, soft comfy bed. Had a couple of meals at the pub really nice good quality with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend
