Charming hotel in a quiet neighbourhood near the beach

I chose this place because it is away from the main drag in Santander, but still with easy access. We walked most places otherwise you could hop on one of the many buses or grab a cab.
We were on the ground floor. The room was small but delightfully decorated with a comfortable bed.
Breakfast was down some stairs where a limited buffet was on offer, but this included locally made pastries. I went with my husband for 3 nights and we had a great time/

Terrible

Dismal room, could not fit in the toilet, it was very hot and had neither air nor fan. It lacked blackout curtains. Very recharged and rococo. I'm not coming back. I do not recommend it for claustrophobics or minimalists. The bathroom was so small that to close the door I had to put myself in the toilet.

Norman Bates, I would be proud

Taking advantage of the children's white week, we decided to take a getaway, we saw this hotel and for price and location it seemed ideal.
When we arrived we were a little disappointed, since the room was very small and the bathroom was really uncomfortable due to the size.
The bed matched the room, too small for two people, who are also large.
The breakfast is cheap for the price, but I think it is quite limited.
The treatment of the correct and friendly staff.
Great location if you like walking along the beach.
Very nice decoration.
19th century mansion.
The worst thing was the little space there was, I think it does not meet the minimum necessary to consider a double room.

To recommend.

The previous reviews, even if they were dated, had worried us but obviously we did not stay in the same establishment. Let's sweep away the negative side: room a little small and bathroom very small (but shower large) to retain the largely positive:
Good bedding, calm inside and outside, warm welcome from the staff, very nice setting (terrace, lounge), perfect breakfast (low price) and what can we say about the location 100 meters from the beach in a quiet street. The bus line is also 100 meters away to go into town. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. To recommend without hesitation.

Worst

The worst I've ever seen. Tiny room, without air conditioning, a ground floor with views of the warehouse. To shower you have to do contortionism, abstain if you are not Barbie or the rubber woman, the faucet hits the toilet, the shower tray was very dirty, not to mention the edges of the shower, of course, let's see who comes in to clean That, as long as they don't do it from the ceiling..., otherwise it fits and I say it, I'm 168 and weigh 55 kg. It's a joke to charge 135 euros for that. They showed me another room, warning me that it would be similar and it was. We left before unpacking. I don't know how they don't feel embarrassed offering this...
