A very pleasant experience

We stayed at this hotel located in the Monastery of San Zoilo for the first night of our getaway to Palestinian lands. It is well located, with in ample outside parking, and just 10 minutes walk from Plaza Mayor de Carrión. The room was spacious and spacious, and we were left with welcome detail (some chocolates) and amenities in the bathroom.
The hotel is rustic, very clean and in a unique enclave and the staff who attended us very friendly at all times. You breathe peace and silence.
In the morning we went down to the cafeteria for breakfast and I was served some toast with the coffee that I'm still lamenting how good and crispy they were...!!
After we left, we went to visit the Monastery with its Cloister and the Church and we loved...

Wonderful accommodation, pitiful breakfast

The place is beautiful and full of history. It is worth to tour the accommodation and see the different rooms. The Las Vigas restaurant is wonderful and the food is great.
The staff, fantastic service.
The biggest hit to consider is the breakfast buffet... it is unfortunate both in quantity and quality... dire!!
The potato tortilla is synthetic, the pastries are industrial and besides very poor quality, scones, croissants, etc dry and hard as stones, unfortunate. Bacon and scrambled cold and dry...
A steal the €13.50 they charge for it.
I recommend accommodation but not breakfast.

Very good breakfast

We have been to the rooms with name of the month on several occasions.
Everything perfect in cleaning decoration...
I would only highlight as very improveable the breakfast, although it is included in the price of the room there is very little variety and the service non-existent.
Quite the opposite in the repcion always very friendly.

CHARMING HOTEL, BUT YOU SHOULD REVIEW SOME SERVICE CONCEPTS

The building, environment and conservation of all facilities, excellent. However, some things should be reviewed and I have created an anomalous situation to which I have not been given a reply or a reasonable explanation. On the one hand, the web indicates free high-speed wifi. This is simply false, wifi is not possible to use beyond reception, and with little signal. It is useless in the room area and in some public areas also, I advise to check it or remove the mention of high speed wifi. I have to say that the breakfast firm is quite poor for a 4* hotel, if we also see a person who handles food, pastry..., etc. without gloves or any hygienic measures such as using tongs, I find it unacceptable (and is not the figure of the cook). Finally, I don’t quite understand how you can decide to play ambient music in the common areas from dawn to midnight ONLY GREGORIAN SINGING, it’s just absurd, even, some employee answers us with resignation because they find it amazing, MUST IMPROVE.

Beautiful grounds. Poorly trained staff.

After days walking the Camino, i was delighted to find this historic and beautiful setting, unfortunately what I will remember most is the rude and poorly trained staff.
The surly barman who clearly doesn't like his job. The breakfast ladies, who in addition to being inattentive and abrupt, took the opportunity to be rude and disrespectful because I misunderstood their direction. When I returned to explain the misunderstanding they doubled down, refusing to budge. Unnecessarily rude.
Reception apologized for their behavior but could not produce a manager because he said that "no one answered the phone" because "in Spain managers don't work on Sundays".
Exception: dinner was exceptional and wait staff very nice.
