My Lisbon city break

I stopped at this hotel 24-28th February with my son. The room was very good and breakfast was very good with a a good choice of food. On our first full day we had been out most of the day so went back to hotel for a bit of a rest. As we were resting we had a knock at the door, it was a member of staff with a couple of cakes and a bottle of wine, I looked at him thinking he may have got the wrong room when suddenly he said Happy birthday. What a lovely thought. Thank you to everyone at the hotel 10/10

Ticked all my boxes

The hotel is about 15m from downtown but perfectly located for my needs. My room was fine although being on the 1st floor, you could hear the music from downstairs up until 11pm. The Tv was tiny not that I wanted to watch it, but apart from that I was happy with what I'd paid for. The breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food and all the staff were very nice. Tip: Use Saldanha Metro which is a flat walk, rather than Alameda which is a very steep climb.

This properly is definitely NOT 4 star. It’s more like 2 star. The rooms are very dated and old. Damaged floors & furniture everywhere.
Bed sheets fine, but bed & mattress old.

The Same Excellence After Thirteen Years

We have consistently gone back to the Hotel Turim Alameda over the past 13 years during our holidays in Lisbon. Over this time period, we note that the hotel has remained steady in its tourist practicality and extraordinary customer service, offering one of the best daily breakfast operations of any hotel in Portugal. Accordingly, I summarize below the most salient features of excellence offered by the Hotel Turim Alameda.
LODGING AND FOOD SERVICES
Room quality is very decent, providing a clean and tidy environment. While varying in size depending upon single or double occupancy, all rooms are adequately equipped. Bathrooms are clean and are frequently updated. WiFi has been recently revamped and modernized, offering unhindered access throughout the 7-storey hotel.
The daily breakfast is solid and diversified, eliminating the need for clients to have to leave the hotel in search of breakfast elsewhere. In addition, especially after a fatiguing day of walking around Lisbon, the hotel’s cocktail lounge offers a variety of beverages (both adult libations and non-alcoholic).
LOCATION IN LISBON
We have long believed that the location of this hotel makes it a most practical choice for tourists in Lisbon. This is because the locale across from the “Instituto Superior Técnico” (a major European university of engineering) is a very safe and clean section of Lisbon. I refer specifically to the high level of neighborhood security, but also to the availability of various shops, restaurants, grocery stores, supermarkets, bakeries, takeaways, laundromats, and “multi-bancos” (i.e., ATM machines)––all located within reasonable walking distance from the hotel.
For those tourists who enjoy using the Lisbon Metro as a means of transportation, there are three major Metro Stations located within walking distance of the hotel. These include the Saldanha Station, the Arroios Station, and the Alameda Station. Between the three (which service different underground metro routes), the tourist is able to travel to and across most sectors of the Lisbon metropolitan area.
For those who prefer private transportation, taking a taxi or an Uber to visit central parts of Lisbon is an easy task. Ordering a taxi at the front desk for us has always been an efficient and inexpensive solution, with an average wait time of 5 minutes or less. And as far as Uber and Bolt go, these private ride-hailing services function quickly and efficiently at the Turim Alameda Hotel.
Personally, the excellence of hotel location alone would cause me to assess the Turim Alameda as top-rated, since there can be other areas of Lisbon which are not nearly as orderly and uncongested. (Take note of this fact when deciding in which part of the metropolitan area you will stay.)
FLEXIBLE, ADAPTABLE STAFF
All hotel staff members should be commended for being very client-friendly, accessible at a minute’s notice, and willing to assist tourists with tips and advice about discovering Lisbon. As a former CEO myself, I believe that this high quality of staff excellence starts with the adept Hotel Director Rui Henriques, who has painstakingly assembled a team of talented and multi-lingual professionals to make your stay most pleasurable.
When you select the Turim Alameda for your stay in Lisbon, you will encounter Carlos Rodrigues (Reception Manager); Daniel do Carmo (Night/Assistant Reception Manager); Wanessa Campelo, Daniel Cavaca, Inês Amaro, Iara Texeira, Gregorio Diaz, and Gonçalo Fernandes (Receptionists). In addition, Ricardo Costa of the food services/bar operation and Helder Jesus of Maintenance Services are equally friendly, accessible, and helpful.
All such team members collectively make the Turim Alameda run like clockwork––even when the hotel is fully booked––providing fast service and expert problem-solving during all moments of your stay in Lisbon.
This is truly a top-ranked hotel team––the equal to which I have been unable to find anywhere else in Lisbon!
