Nice Campground, 15 minute bus from town

Stayed for 3 nights in August in a powered campervan site. It is quite a nice campground. The facilities were a bit dated, and the common room was absolutely freezing. The location is about a 15 minute bus ride away from the city centre. There are a few nice little walks very close by.

How dare they?

My wife and I booked a powered pitch for two nights in January 2024 for our current NZ motorhome tour in Jan/Feb 2025.
When making the booking we received an e mail confirmation of our booking and details of a credit card were taken but payment was withheld until our arrival.
We duly turned up at the site on 19 January 2025 only to find that the site is closed! Seemingly the site has been taken over is privately owned accommodation.
We were particularly annoyed to discover this as we had had no notification of any changes and had received no notification of the change in ownership from the campsite owners. Had we received one we would have been able to make alternative arrangements before we departed on holiday.
Fortunately we managed to find an alternative campsite, probably better, but the lack of any communication about closure was unnecessarily stressful and thoughtless.
We were not impressed.
Warning: Don’t book this site for camping/motorhome bookings it is no longer operating.

Great caravan park

Stayed a night in the caravan section. Was great, nice level spot. Good bathroom and kitchen facilities + laundry. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great quiet spot for a stay in Dunedin, not too far from the city but feels out of the way.

Rooms need to be improved.

Really disappointed with the standard of the room. Booked into a one bedroom tourist flat via booking.com. Room is worn out. Carpet filthy and sofa lounge is torn. Urgently needs an upgrade and a good clean. Not what the pictures on the internet show.

Good base for exploring Dunedin

Small campsite 3 kms from the Octagon, . Peaceful place, closr yo greenery, a little tired but good facilities. The person on reception just about mustered enough enthusiasm to check us in but all other staff we came across were friendly and helpful. If you fancy a night away from downtown Dunedin, 20 mins walk away is The Inch Bar; a cozy little place that sells draft beers and, occasionally, puts on live music.
