I felt very welcome and recommend this hotel 100%
The staff was very kind and helpful.
My room was comfortable, clean and had everything that I needed during my stay. And the breakfast buffet was amazing. If you have an allergy or you are vegetarian/vegan, you will find enough choices.

Noisy and Problematic
The three-star review is because Barcelo has glaring problems that significantly affect the experience. The first is that it is on a noisy main thoroughfare. During our two-day stay, motorists sped up and down the avenue all night until dawn, honking their horns and revving their motorcycles. We were informed this is customary as a means of celebrating weddings. It happened both nights. We were on the third floor, and even with earplugs and a white noise machine, our sleep was frequently interrupted. In addition, on the first night, we were treated to a barrage of fireworks twice during the night.
If you are a light or medium sleeper you should consider somewhere else.
In addition, the bidet hose with which the toilet is equipped leaked and flooded the bathroom. It seemed to get worse on the second day. The automatic light in the bathroom stayed on all night the first night and would not turn off. It was broken the second night and would not turn on.
Finally, I specifically inquired of the Maitre D'hotel about catching our seven o'clock train early on the third day. I asked for a boxed breakfast to go and was told the dining room opened at six o'clock and not to worry. We stood outside the dining room at the appointed time, and after ten minutes of waiting, I entered, only to be told the dining room didn't open until 6:30. We were grudgingly served breakfast in an empty dining room and barely made our train.
If Barcelo addressed these kinds of problems, it would certainly be worth a higher rating. As it is, it feels like a place that is struggling.
