Effective 1 January 2024, Foreign nationals entering Malaysia are required to fill in the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) via the Malaysian Immigration portal. During the check-in period, a city construction tax of 3MYR will be charged per room per night when checking into 4 or 5-star hotels. A city construction tax of 2MYR will be charged per room per night when checking into hotels rated 3 stars or less. This tax must be paid at the front desk. It is prohibited to bring durian and mangosteen to the hotel.
