Chongqing Laizhu Book House Hotel (Shangqing Temple Niujiaotuo Subway Station)

The hotel is located on Zhongshan Fourth Road, Shangqingsi, a transportation hub connecting the west, south, and north of Yuzhong District. It is situated on a "most beautiful street" that records the history of Chongqing, and has been attracting attention from around the world since the 1930s. It includes Guiyuan, Zhou Gong Guan, Dai Gong Guan, Zhang Ji Gong Guan, and the former site of the National Government Presidential Palace. The hotel features a small bean tatami room, a double bed room with independent space, a sunlit suite with exclusive skylights, and designer rooms such as Qiancao, Qingbi, and Ruozhu. The overall style is warm, artistic, and fresh. The green plants in the open-air bamboo garden, the book wall at the corner, and the old elm tables and chairs allow for reading and chatting.

Very friendly and helpful staffs. They scan your WeChat so you can contact them anytime you need. Place is 10mins drive away from city center Jiefangbei pedestrian street. There are lots of small local restaurants and shops around the hotel. The hotel is on 18th floor of the building.

The hotel looks really great inside. It was a little harder to find since the lobby is on the 18th floor, and I haven't seen any sign downstairs, but otherwise great! And see the view from my window 😍
They even sent a forgotten item to me to a different city, so thank you, Xiaowang 😊

The best thing was its location, very close to metro and bus station. The view is also good. It has a river and city view.

I was having my 1st trip in ChongQing and this was my 1st stay ever at this city. At first we got lost (not really lost) due to langguage barrier in noticing the hotel name in pinyin mandarin. However, as I previously contacted the hotel, the hotel staff called 柚子assisting me to reach the hotel which was already behind us haha. Pay attention to Q bakery because the hotel is right behind this bakery and the lobby was in 18th floor. I like the ambience of this hotel. The room is spacious enough for us and our big luggages. The staff is helpful and accommodating. It is cool outside so air conditioner might not be needed in this winter trip. However i am not sure if it is in summer. Overall, I recommend staying here for your winter trip in Chongqing.

Good value for money. However, it was hard to find as it was on the 18th floor. This was not mentioned. The room was not very clean: it smelled of smoke, the floor was sticky, and some furniture felt unclean. We did like the location and the view, it is only a 10 minute walk from the metro station. For this price, we would still recommend.
