Roomy quiet apartment

The Staging Post has two locations. Ours was the more modern Coach Inn on Magpie Lane while the older Stables is on Eagle St. We had an easy check in at the Staging Post Stables side then parked on Magpie Lane. There is limited parking here but we got one of their guest spots. It was a wonderfully quiet location - no truck noises at all - with ground floor access from street. You can book Outback Pioneers Longreach adventure packages from here which looked interesting but we were on a road trip and didn’t have time. Breakfasts and dinners are available at extra cost on Mondays to Saturdays but you can also walk to other venues in town.
The layout was a bedroom, bathroom with a seperate fully equipped kitchen with stove, mini-fridge, sink, microwave, electric hot plate, toaster and kettle as well as a dining table with two chairs. There was an extensive range of cooking utensils, pots, pans, glasses, cups, plates, bowls and dishwashing supplies. Salt, sugar, tea and coffee were supplied. In addition there was a broom, brush and shovel, ironing board and iron. There was a seperate luggage storage with even more general storage in the bathroom. It is well set up for longer stays. Housekeeping is just once per week so you basically take care of yourself.
There were nice little touches like cup and saucers and teapot on a tray on the old style metal frame bed when you arrive and a comfortable arm chair in the bedroom. There are extra blankets and pillows. One bedside light and one standing lamp on the other bedside. The TV is angled from bed with the tv control in an obvious wall spot next to it. The old fashioned air conditioner wasn’t noisy. The bathroom was very light and fun with a big sink and storage with toiletries, wash clothes and tissues. The shower cubicle with shower curtain had wonderfully hot water with great water pressure and a non-slip mat. We had Wifi for the first time on our trip. We only had one night here but it would be great for mult-day stays.

A ripoff

We were charge $220 and after paying were told we could only park in the street . As we were travelling in a twin cab with spare tyres tools, etc this was not an option. After some discussion we were able to park within the motel. There was no milk , no onsite management and no access to wifi or tv stations, could only find one channel.
Would not recommend for the above reasons.
Overseas. visitors would love decor I am sure , but at this price would not recommend.

Regarding the milk, TV channels, and Wi-Fi, we wish you had contacted us during your stay. Although we don’t have on-site management at all hours, our booking office is open from 9-5pm, 7 days a week. Outside those hours, our team is always available by phone and happy to assist with any issues. We could have quickly provided milk and addressed any technical difficulties to ensure your stay was comfortable.
We strive to provide a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all our guests. Your feedback is valuable, and we hope you’ll give us another chance in the future.

Relaxing holiday accommodation

I stayed in the coach inn and it was wonderful. Everything was at hand that you would need'. Reception staff so accommodating, fresh milk on asking. Large walk-in robe, great to store your case. Could not fault the room. The entry to your room could be accessed in two directions, so you did not have to go past reception every time.

Lovely rustic accommodation, good location, excellent facilities

Good location, behind the Outback Pioneers shop front on a main street. We booked a Standard Queen room, which was a little bigger than a standard motel room, in that you have a small kitchen/dining area, separate from the bedroom, which was nice. The bathroom is quite large, loads of cupboard storage space, very handy. The bedroom has a WIR with more storage space. Nicely decorated with a rustic ‘pioneer’ touch. Bed was very comfy, good air con. Kitchen facilities are good, has a sink, small fridge, microwave and a hot plate, along with all the usual kitchen supplies. Shower & hairdryer are good. Bathroom supplies include 2 small soaps, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion (quality toiletries), and plentiful supply of loo paper and facial tissues.
The large kitchen window does not have a roller blind on it, whereas the smaller bedroom window does have a blind. The curtains on both windows are flimsy fabric, so there is zero blockout on the kitchen window. The morning light streams into the kitchen and the bedroom, as does the outside light that is on all night. If you are light sensitive, bring an eye mask! If a blind was installed on the kitchen window, I would have rated our stay 10/10.

Don’t accept a room behind the dining room

Do not accept a room out the back of the restaurant on steak night!!
Very noisy and unable to sleep. They could close the doors to the restaurant but decide to cater for those willing to pay $68 a head for a meal rather than those who have booked accommodation.
Make sure you are out into the stables.
Very disappointing for people doing big drives who only want a good sleep.
